Well Autumn is here and the days are getting colder and the nights are getting longer but it’s not all bad news. October means Halloween, or Samhain in Irish. Halloween is an old Celtic festival and since the Irish love a spooky story and a party it’s no surprise that it’s one of the most popular holidays in Ireland.
Temple Bar is the place to be seen in your costume on Halloween night and don’t forget your camera! This year Halloween falls on the bank holiday Monday 31st October and the school will be closed so you will have all day to get your costume and make up ready.
We’ll be having our own ‘Best Costume Competition’ in School on Friday 28th October with prizes for the top three costumes. We’re also pleased to announce our return to Howl at the Moon for our official school Halloween party on Thursday 27th October. All drinks will be 2.50 and entrance is free before nine. We hope to see you all there!
We do have one piece of sad news though and we hope you’ll join us in biding a fond farewell to teacher Ciaran Kelly who has been an important part of our school for the last two years. We wish him all the best on his travels!
