There are many options available and where you choose to stay can vastly affect your experience in Dublin.
That is why we provide own accommodation options for you. Depending on your needs and desires you can choose between them. Students who want to integrate deeper into the Irish culture and way of life pick one of our selected host families. Their houses are located in quiet residential areas but not too distant from school and with efficient public transport available nearby.
The alternative is the Student residence where you will share apartments with other students like you, exchanging your impressions of Ireland and socializing. The rooms are very nice and tenants like them a lot. You are also located in the centre of Dublin where everything is at a walking distance.
Erin School of English has developed partnerships with a wide network of families throughout Dublin.
Our students are placed with host families in safe, residential areas. The majority of our families live in modern houses with their own gardens, away from the city centres.
All our host families are carefully selected, individually inspected and continually monitored.
Public transport is available nearby and you will not lose much time commuting.
Students are provided with:
- a clean, tidy room with desk/table for study, adequate storage for clothes, and a comfortable bed with a weekly change of bed linen
- facility to have a shower every day with adequate hot water and towels available
- sufficient light and heat when necessary
- fresh food which should vary from day to day
- Monday – Sunday – breakfast and evening meal
- Once-off placement fee €50 (payable in advance to Erin School of English)
- €210/week – single room placement
- €190/week – double room placement
Shanowen Hall – Secure Student Accommodation
Shanowen Hall is a modern development of 55 comfortable and spacious, self-catering apartments. The complex consists of a selection of 4 and 5 bedroom apartments all of which are ensuite with an open plan living room and kitchen area. This secure residential complex is situated less than 5 minutes walking distance from Dublin City University.

The complex is situated just 400 metres (less then a 5 minute walk) from the main entrance to DCU, so is perfect for DCU students. Also within walking distance to St. Patrick’s and Plunket College, we are located on a busy bus route giving quick and easy access to All Hallows, Mater Dei and other City Centre colleges.
The purpose built student accommodation offers an excellent standard of living. Each apartment is self contained and all have 4 bedrooms.
The apartment has carpet tile flooring throughout apart from the kitchen area which has a ceramic tile finish. Two leather sofas, coffee table, mood lamp are provided within the living area and a dining arrangement for four people within the open plan kitchen area.
All Bedrooms are single en-suite and provide a luxury sleeping and working environment. A combination wardrobe incorporating shelving, study desk, swivel chair and bed side locker and table light are provided in each room. Onsite laundry facilities. The large shower room comprises a power shower with whb, w/c, bathroom mirror, shaving light, heater, fan and tiled walls. Cable TV points are available in each bedroom and in living room. There is an interlinked mains fire alarm system and fire doors throughout.
Shanowen Hall is a purpose built building offering all the benefits of the most recent building regulations. The property has an interlinked mains fire alarm system, fire doors and emergency lights.
Rent and Tenancies
Apartments are available from €225 per person per week (including electricity bills, Internet, weekly cleaning service and the set of the bed linens upon arrival). A deposit of 100 euro is required to be paid with every individual booking.
